Ongoing Adult Highland Classes

Susan's highland classes are run through Shot of Scotch Vancouver and are kept small to give each student ample attention, growth opportunity and individual challenges.  The focus is on FUN, fitness, technique and learning about the traditions of highland dance. Each class includes a full warmup, barre and strengthening work, technique, new material as well as a full cool down. For those returning to highland dance after a break, these classes are a great way to get back into the swing of things without the pressure of competition, or risk of serious injury from too much intensity too soon.

Sundays 10:00-11:30 AM: Int/Premier Levels (Let's work! Focus on technique, stamina and strength)

Sundays 11:30-1:00 PM: Nov/Int Levels (Slower pace for new dancers to learn and for returning premier dancers to remember steps and regain stamina. Minimum of 1 year dance experience required, must know Fling, Sword, Lilt, S. Trs.)

Sundays 1:00-2:30 pm: Beginner Level (Open to dancers with a little highland or other related dance training. Focus on basic movements and slow learning of the Fling, Sword & Lilt)

Sunday sessions run September to June at Broadway Ballroom. Bonus summer sessions and workshops run Jul & Aug at Scotiabank Dance Centre. Absolute Beginner Workshops offered several times per year.

The cost for each session is payable at or before the first class of each session.  Pre-registration and full session commitment required.
